Thank you for stopping by! My name is Angel Canary ( like the bird – yes it’s my “real” name lol ) Did you just picture a little yellow canary with white angel wings
This is the place that I update all of my favorite recent work, photo tips and tricks, girlie things and more. So that should answer the question – what the hey, where is Steven? Steven and I still do weddings together but I am the photographer that does the portraits, etc. and this is my personal blog. We are still married, still madly deeply in love and still do awesome work together doing weddings, but Steven isn’t up for the whole blog thing. Much love Steven, but this is m y s p a c e
but I might give him a shout out every now and then.
This blog is where I can mix my professional love of photography and personality all in one. I am a lifestyle photographer that is located in Greenfield Indiana, that serves the Central Indiana and other Destinations for Weddings. My ideal client is someone who loves to smile (with or without showing teeth – I don’t discriminate) and seeks a photographer that will capture the “real” person that they are and just have fun! So this blog is my happy place. So, Live. Laugh. Love. Take pictures. That’s what my blog is all about. That’s what my life is all about.
My main love is Wedding Photography, but I also photograph Senior Pictures, Engagement Sessions, Newborn Baby Portraits, and Family Portraits here in Greenfield and Indianapolis Indiana. I will travel to Zionsville, Carmel and other areas – just ask.
I am an artist and a photographer. I went to South Highlands Art and Magnet Institute, and that is where my love and passion for art and photography began. When I was 10 years old, my Grandfather, who is also a photographer, bought me a camera for Christmas. I was on the yearbook staff and ran around taking pictures of all of the events. Okay, I was only 11 when this yearbook was in my hands and I wrote “me” in marker, pink of course, by all of the photos of me. Don’t hate me for being a girlie girl.

The first photograph I remember getting excited about was my friend Donald jump-roping.

I caught him in mid-air with this smile on his face. I remembered I was soooo excited that I got that shot. I was really excited when we got to use it for the yearbook. I had poetry and other things published prior to this, but to see that photo in the yearbook changed me. I thought this is the coolest thing – EVER!

That year I also had my artwork picked by the Staff to go on the front cover of the yearbook. I remember they announced it over the intercom, I was sooo tickled.
Boy, what a GREAT year! That was the year that my teachers shaped my life, seriously, I have much love for them. I owe them so much. So as you see, I was in love with art, and photography – BUT when digital photography came out – oh boy – I was in love. Now I can do my art work ON my photos. The digital age has truly changed my life. I am blessed that I can share my love of art and photography with the world, and I am thankful that the world lets me.
The personal side of me.
I feel that I MUST say this before I go any further. Some women ask for diamonds, gold, and jewelry. I do not. Some men have boats and motorcycles, and I, do not. All I ask for are 3 things. Which, in reality, add up to a lot less than a $2000 diamond ring. So before you start hating me, remember, this is ALL I ask for.
First and Foremost are my girls and my husband. More than they will ever know, they are my everything.
Must haves for the girlie me.
1. MY SHOES
I have a LOT of shoes. I must have shoes. My red shoes are my favorite because I like the way they look with my jeans. I am only 5′4″ so it makes my pants “look” like they fit. I purchase most of my shoes from Charlotte Russe and they average about $25 bucks. I like to go right after Christmas, because they run awesome sales. I only paid $8 for these.

I have all sorts of colors and styles, but I must have my neutrals to go with anything.

2. I must have a really good pair of jeans. I like the dark jeans that fit perfect. When you look great, you feel great. I really believe that. You don’t have to buy them new, if you go to Platos Closet - you would pay about $20 for the brand name jeans. I purchase a lot of my clothes there, because I get down on the ground a lot when I shoot, and I stain clothes a lot. So I don’t have to pay a lot to look and feel good.

3. My Handbags. I know, I know, but hey, it’s cheaper than diamond rings right? This purse Steven just got me for our wedding anniversary. It was marked 75% off because it had a tiny speck or stain on it. I LOVE you Steven – best present, ever. I cannot even think about not having a cute handbag, even if it is only $10, if it’s cute, I must have it – it’s not about the brand as much as the quality and if it’s cute or not. I don’t think I have EVER paid full price for a handbag, ever. No way, no how, nope, never full price. I have lots of great brand name handbags that I got when it was out of season for that year for a fraction of what they normally cost. Kathy Van Zeeland are my favorite purses – but I like to shop for them at Burlington Coat factory where they cost less than half than they do at the department stores.

I grew up poor. I remember I got my first new shirt from the Mall when I started going to South Highlands because I went to school with all rich kids. I had to wear “handy downs” from my cousins who where all about 3 inches taller than I was (I shop at Platos Closet, so I guess it’s the same thing, but I get to pick what I want and they fit lol.) I really believe this is why I like the few nice things I really do have – and I appreciate and am thankful for what I do have. I didn’t let that stop me from being me. It’s not about what you have or don’t have. I learned over the years that if I can’t afford something and I really want it, I just worked extra jobs and hours to get the things I really wanted in life. This is how I grew my business. Working two full time jobs paid the way for all of the expensive equipment, lenses, computers and business costs. That’s sort of my whole point – I have a passion for photography just as much if not more than my “girly things” that I MUST have. Enough to work 100 hours a week, to get what I want. You can do anything you want to do in life – just believe in yourself, and work hard and envision it – own it.
My Addiction:
Aside from photography, art and paying it forward and HOUSE -
Weight Watchers Ice Cream “Stuff”

I am a New Years Baby – yes, a wedding photographer that is a Capricorn – what a mix – you can imagine how many hours I really work.
