I’m so excited. I know that is the dullest description, but I’m too excited to find a thesaurus lol. I’m so thrilled and honored to be one of the lucky 20 to attend the fabulous Jasmine Star’s workshop this April in Orange County, California! It will be in April, so I will actually fly to Cali the first week of April, then fly back home to Indianapolis. I will be photographing the ever lovely Tara’s wedding, then flying out the next day back to Cali for Jasmine’s workshop, then back to Indianapolis, just in time for Sarah’s wedding. It’s going to be a tight squeeze, but I know it will be SO worth it! I have waited months for her to have a workshop! Did I mention how excited I am! I’m still dancing around (really glad nobody’s home!)
Thank you Jasmine, I know you are going to rock it out with your fabulous self!
*edit to add* See…I was so excited I forgot to post a picture! It is a photo blog after all!
I love Steven, no doubt about it. However, I hate it when my hair or makeup is messed up and he doesn’t tell me. I’m sure a LOT of women can relate. It’s okay though, I bought this Shootsac cover for him along with a striped one, but I kept it because I liked it – so now we’re even.

I totally envy you!!!!! The second I checked it was sold out.
Have fun!!
i know you will! haha.
Oh, I sooooo want to go as well! I wish you a great time!
YAY!! You’re going to have a blast!!
Congratulations to both of you!
Becca and Cameron’s wedding style is that of an old love, an old vintage feel of black and white. We tried to tone and create their photos to reflect their style. Becca and Cameron really like the old black and white touch. I will have their story up soon to share, this is just a sneak peek!
This is so original and thoughtful! Becca used her grandmother’s old and elegant handkerchief to embellish her wedding day shoes.

I love the headpiece, it really displays the vintage touch.

Becca’s roses and dress were shades of ivory.

I love love love the girls’ shoes! I would love to know where she bought them…

This is right before the ceremony…

Does this pose look familiar? If you have ever been to my website, you might recognize it.![]()

A sweet moment.

These are amazing!
I am looking forward to sharing with my friends and family.
You are truly wonderful.
I love them! Thank you for updating the wedding pictures periodically. They are beautiful and so artistic. Thank you for capturing the memories. I, too, can’t wait to share them with our friends and family.
fabulous work, Angel! You nailed this one
Rebecca, your pictures are incredible. Your gown was beautiful and you looked so happy. Your artistic talent is evident in all the details of your wedding. I can’t wait to see the rest of the pictures.
Hello Angel and Steven! This is becca and cameron emailing you from mexico!! We had to take time to check our wedding photos and we are very pleased—they are beautiful and perfect in every way! Thank you so much for your time, dedication, and even patience with us on the special day. You truly have a God given talent to capture life changing moments in peoples’ lives. Thank you and talk to you soon:)
I received an email earlier this week from James. Although I receive at least 100 emails a day, his stood out, as it was marked in the subject line “photography request – urgent!” He discovered me on theKnot.com, and stated that he was impressed with our work. Again, I was still very interested as I continued to read his email.
James wrote, “My girlfriend, Susan, and I met while both completing the MBA program at IU. She took a job in Washington DC as I have been finishing up my 2nd year. We have been in a long distance relationship for much of the year we’ve been together – but are so lucky to have found each other…it’s been worth every minute! As expected, we’ve spent a significant amount of time in airports, traveling to see each other, trading off weekend visits. She is flying into Indianapolis on this Friday and I will be proposing to her just outside the terminal (in the main public area). I would love to have photos of the proposal (obviously candid shots, nothing posed).”
I not only returned his email right away, and moved a few small things around since it was last minute, but I SMILED (ear to ear of course!) I seriously love photographing life changing events like this! This is why I LOVE what I do!
I received permission from the Communications & Media Relations Manager, Susan, at the Indianapolis International Airport (they have to contact law enforcement, their staff and security just for other photographers out there) and received my instructions from James. I arrived to meet James, also smiling from ear to ear (with his friend Matt.) He was so happy but nervous at the same time. Her flight at this time had been delayed twice, so I think that was adding to the anxiety (the good kind) not just in James, but also in me and Steven.
You see, they don’t announce which flight has landed – and all that you see is people walking through the gate. Each time, James would ask where they were coming from – and each time it was a different flight. This went on for about 5 flights and each time we would relax standing in place (as James paced nervously) wondering when she would appear. James asked that I do not start photographing her to where she could see me until he got down on one knee, as to not blow the surprise, so I had to stay tucked and I couldn’t see past the gate. I noticed a blur coming his way and started shooting. She literally RAN to him! Open arms! That in itself was sooo awesome to watch, really! Then I heard him take her hand and tell her how much he loves her, and then he got on his knee. I gave her about 2 seconds before I would be in her view, but she never even noticed me. She was surprised and SMILING ear to ear! Susan had absolutely no idea that he was about to propose. I, for the first time in a long time, actually started to tear up a little and had to hold it back! I also love the looks and smiles from all of the people that were passing by! James and Susan, your joy and love has sparked so many SMILES!
Because I am a photographer, not a writer, here is the slideshow of this wonderful moment that I am so honored that they allowed me to share with them! I still have the farm fuzzies!

That is a sweet story. I can imagine it’s pretty cool to be able to participate in the most important events in peoples lives. I love your work!!
Thank you so much for capturing all of the emotion in this wonderful moment. I am Susan’s Dad and I can’t thank you enough for allowing us to “be there” and share in the joy of this special moment in our daughter’s and her future husband’s life. You’ve captured it perfectly!
The photos made me tear up a bit! I cannot tell you how special Susan J is to our little group (known as the Favorites’) and we all love being able to “witness” the special moment! Thank you, thank you, thank you! And thanks to James for being so thoughtful to have looked for you!
AWWWW. How exciting and fun!
OMG!!!! You did an amazing job with this shoot. i wanted to cry. You can see the love they have for each other and him he is a cupid. I love it when guys plan from their heart. I am so glad that you were able to be part of this special moment and create lasting memories. I felt like I was there and I loved the expressions from the people at the airport. What a lucky gal!!!! YOU GO GIRL.
We,(James’parents), could not have asked for a more wonderful “photo moment” to view over and over again! You captured the very spirit of James and Susan and have given us the opportunity to share it with all of their loved ones near and far. Tom and I look forward to meeting you and this is just the beginning of some wonderful photos moments to come…..get ready for some hugs!
i LOVE these. how awesome!!!!
Angel, these are magnificent. It brought tears to my eyes watching the slideshow. Kudos to James for thinking of such a great idea and to you for capturing it so beautifully.
omg Angel…this is AMAZING! Imagine their photo album…from the proposal, the engagement pics, the wedding, etc
Beautiful work!
I have watched the slide show over and over with tears in my eyes each time. As James’s father, who always tries to make to each “opening”, it was painful to miss such a fantastic event, but you so beautifully and poetically captured the remarkable expression of love and joy that is so evident with Susan and James, that I can relive the moment as if I were there! Thank you!
