• photography + art = love

Thank you for stopping by! My name is Angel Canary ( Canary pronounced like the bird - yes it's my "real" name lol ) Did you just picture a little yellow canary with white angel wings ;)

This blog is where I can mix my professional love of photography and personality all in one.  This is the place that I update all of my favorite recent work, photo tips and tricks, girly things and more.  I am an Indianapolis lifestyle photographer that is located in Greenfield Indiana, that serves the Central Indiana and other Destinations for Weddings. My ideal client is someone who loves to smile (with or without showing teeth - I don't discriminate) and seeks a photographer that will capture the "real" person that they are and just have fun!  My dream client is one whom the sky is the limit when it comes to possibilities, and will let me "paint a picture" of their life and how they live, laugh and love! This blog is my happy place. So, Live. Laugh. Love. Take pictures. That's what my blog is all about. That's what my life is all about.

Steven is the love of my life.  He is my best friend.  I tell him my dreams, hopes and fears.  He is the yin to my yang and he really is the only person in the world that "gets" me.  I am so thankful for him - and not to mention to be able to photograph with him.  He is a fabulous photographer and I would like to think we make an unique team - he is always there for me.

My main love is Wedding Photography, and I am an Indianapolis wedding photographer, but I also photograph Senior Pictures, Engagement Sessions, Newborn Baby Portraits, and Family Portraits here in Greenfield and Indianapolis Indiana. I will travel - just ask.

one quick one – baby cole

Baby Cole will be two weeks old Monday. I am just posting one for now for his mom and dad. He is perfect in every way.;)

Okay, just one more…my fav from their session. I’ll have more and the story later.

check your date = something new on the site

I just wanted to let everyone know that since we now have a featured ad on theKnot.com, we hope to have a lot more traffic coming our way. So, to make it easier for our brides and grooms that are shopping around, we decided to add a “check your date” link at the bottom of our wedding packaging, which you can find here. We will not be available on the shaded areas. We did not shade out our “vacation time” this year, as we plan to kind of wing it in-between weddings. We are also doing this because most of the dates that we are booked, we get between 6 and 30 requests for the same dates, and while we do like to refer our photographer friends, most of them are also booked on the same dates that we are at this point in the year. We do have a quite a few booked for 2011, but I don’t feel the need to put that year up just yet.

I hope this makes everyone’s experience easier for them.

engagement favs day 3

I know I have been posting a few photo posts up randomly, but it’s been a little busy around here.  I wanted to skip around and go today to this couple because they are getting married in a couple of weeks!

I was contemplating an attempt to recreate the story Becca gave me for their mini-site about how Cameron proposed to her.  I just couldn’t find the right words to do it justice, so I copy and pasted her story – because it’s perfect in every way.

“During the last week of September, Cameron moved to Indianapolis to start his new job at Larson Financial Group. He started on a Tuesday night and it wasn’t until Friday evening that we were able to see each other. After work on Friday I met up with him at his work and he showed me around his new building and office. We had a gift card to Maggiano’s and ate some great Italian food that night. It was a very romantic setting and Cameron kept on saying, “Well isn’t this a romantic date?” and he pointed out to me more than once how well things were going on our date. I thought that was odd. We did talk briefly about marriage and he encouraged me to trust him and that engagement was soon.

Then, we left the restaurant and headed back to my house in separate cars. On the drive home he drove in front of me and I saw him talking a lot on the phone and moving his hands a lot! (Matter of fact, that whole time he was notifying our parents that he was going to pop the question that night. Later he told me that he had the ring on the passenger seat wondering how he was going to get it in his pocket without me noticing a big bump on his hip.)

When we got to my house we parked our cars and he called me down to the bottom of the driveway to help him unload his car. “Oh Becca, I have something I made for you last week and I forgot to send it to you in the mail.” So he gave me a book that he made out of finger paints, the same kit we used on our first date. The book had around 10 pages and was written like a children’s book about a “Cameron Bear” and a “Becca Bear.” This whole time I was thinking this is a great way to propose but there is no way he is going to tonight, so I read through the book quickly. When I got to the last page it had a picture of Cameron Bear giving Becca Bear a ring on October 2nd 2009! I almost dropped the book and just stood there staring with my mouth wide open. “Becca, finish reading” he said. So I read the last sentence as it said, “He got down on one knee…” So Cameron got down on his knee there in the grass by my driveway and proposed. I did a lot of laughing and some crying, but mostly that girly laugh. We went inside and celebrated with my parents, and then with his parents the following day at the Taylor University football game.”

This is why I love photographing people that are truly and madly deeply in love.  This fills me with so much joy and happiness – I am so happy for them!

engagement favs day 2

Day two for the engagement favs! These two are two opposite spectrums of the weather extremes. Lisa and Josh’s session was at the beginning of spring at the IMA and everything was still half dead and have coming to life. Stephanie and Michaels was in late late fall (or to me early winter) when everything outside had already died! However, I think that no matter the weather, we’ll find a way to show your personality and have fun!

Stephanie and Michael downtown Noblesville, Indiana.

Lisa and Josh, the IMA in Indianapolis

Fav, ever.
